Advanced Scan to PDF Free is a neat tool created to offer a simple and straightforward manner of converting scanned paper documents and images to PDF files. Besides the scanned files, Advanced Scan to PDF Free can also convert images like GIF, BMP, PNG, etc. from local sources to PDF files. A few basic image editing functions are also available, consisting mostly of rotating and cropping. Zooming is also possible when previewing the files that you want to process. The previewing function is actually one of the most remarkable features of this tool, as it enables you to quickly and easily check how the output documents should look like.
Another nice thing about Advanced Scan to PDF Free is the fact that it allows for adding metadata like title, author, subject, etc. to the output PDF files. It can also encrypt them and lock the access to them using passwords. Last but not least, applying digital signatures is also supported.
Unfortunately, this is a tool that reinforces the two main bad stereotypes about free applications: that they're never exactly free, or that they lack quality. The installer is plagued by numerous offers to install unneeded third-party software, an obvious adware-like behaviour, and the quality of the output PDF files is sometimes questionnable, to say the least.
Anyway, despite the negative aspects, Advanced Scan to PDF Free might still deserve a try, as it also provides interesting advantages.

BUT, even that is full of problems. Around step 2, it demanded i fill in a survey - but the questions are NOT IN ENGLISH so sod it, this annoying badly written deceitful software can go in the bin where it deserves to be.
